When I began working with Center for Independent Futures, I was their in-house marketing and development assistant. Within three short years, I was promoted to their marketing and communications manager due to my keen attention to detail, excellent organization and project management skills, and my creative execution of social media, email marketing, website management, event marketing, and more.

When I joined Center for Independent Futures, they already had an established #GivingTuesday routine. However, their analytics needed more exploration. Over the course of my first three months with the team, I had crafted a whole new strategy designed to generate more first time donors through a peer-to-peer fundraising strategy.

I implemented the peer-to-peer campaign by working closely with the Board of Directors, Young Professionals Board, staff, participants, and their families. By digging into our existing community connections, we were able to generate 33% more new donors in our first year alone. In the following year, my fundraising strategy brought in 82% of the year's new donors.

For this #GivingTuesday project, I built on my previous success with our annual campaigns. I developed the messaging for this campaign, focused on the concept of "a full life," meaning individuals can choose their social activities, their friends, their work, their homes.
With hourly fundraising updates and continued support from the organization's vast community, we met our goals and received a $10,000 matching grant from a local Chicago organization.
